A tall red-and-teal play structure climbs into the blue above Yasuragi Park. This is not a village full of children, yet the lawns are kept neatly mown and the spiral slide seems to wait, always ready, for someone to come and play. Because the place has been cared for by patient hands, children can run and climb and laugh here with their whole hearts. In a small village folded among the mountains, a day can still open up as wide as this.
