西条の大通り脇を、一筋の用水路がまっすぐ駆けていく。両側の緑はいよいよ濃く、水面はきらきらと光を弾く。緑の輝き、流れる水、そして空の青——見上げれば夏がすぐそこまで来ている。村じゅうが、静かにエネルギーを蓄えはじめる季節。

Beside the main road through Nishijo, a slender waterway runs dead straight into the distance. The green along both banks deepens by the day, and the clear current breaks the light into a thousand glints. The glow of the leaves, the moving water, the blue of the sky above — look up, and summer is almost within reach. Across the village, this is the season when everything quietly begins to gather its strength.
