Great white thunderheads are stacking themselves into the blue. Through the car window there is no arguing with them — summer has arrived. The mountains have settled into their deepest green, and the sky holds a blue that simply refuses to end. For Chikuhoku, this is where the real summer begins. The heat that’s coming will be relentless, yet standing under a sky this vast and this alive, it feels, somehow, like something worth being proud of.
